Michele L. Babcock, Managing Partner of Jacobowitz & Gubits Recognized by Hofstra University and The Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties
The law firm of Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP (J&G) is pleased to announce that Michele L. Babcock, Managing Partner, was honored this week with awards from two different organizations.
On April 22, 2019, Hofstra University celebrated its 4th Annual Awards and Dinner Reception to recognize and celebrate women who have made meaningful and inspiring contributions to the legal community. Michele was honored as one of the 2019 Outstanding Women in Law.
On April 25th, the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (“WBAOSC”) recognized Michele as the Distinguished Member Attorney at their Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony. This award honors an outstanding attorney who has achieved professional excellence, has distinguished herself by service to WBAOSC and to the community, and has provided leadership.

Michele was selected for these prestigious recognitions for many reasons, including managing a full-service law firm with over 20 attorneys and nearly 30support staff; her commitment to Orange and Sullivan County through her graduation from Leadership Orange, Leadership Sullivan, and the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress Fellows Program;, and for her long list of accomplishments and recognitions. Michele is the recipient of the 2018 Leadership Orange Hall of Fame Award and was recognized as a 2018 Sullivan County Business and Professional Women of the Year. In 2019, Jacobowitz and Gubits was selected by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce as the Business of the Year. Michele currently serves as a member of the board of trustees of the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. She resides in the Town of New Windsor with her husband and three young children.
