Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP announces that associate attorney G. Brian Morgan has been chosen as a 2006 Congressional Medal of Distinction winner by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). Mr. Morgan has been selected based on his unyielding support of the Republican Party, outstanding leadership in business and contributions to the local economy.
Carmee Murphy, associate attorney at Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, was recently admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. The Supreme Court is New York’s principal trial court. As a member, Ms. Murphy is able to practice law and actively serve our communities. She is a member of the NYS Bar Association, the Dutchess County Women’s Bar Association, Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Association and Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce legislative action committee.
Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP recently sponsored the Poughkeepsie Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Business After Hours” monthly event at the Culinary Institute of America’s Anton Plaza in Hyde Park. Business professionals from the surrounding area were able to network while sampling hor d’oeuvres and enjoying panoramic views of the Hudson River. Alyse D. Terhune recently joined the law office of Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, specializing in municipal law. Ms. Terhune graduated from Pace University’s School of Law. She is a board member on the Town Council in Tuxedo, NY. Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP also welcomes two new employees, Wanda Betancourt, Municipal/Land Use legal assistant, and Marchelle Wild-Mathieu, Business legal assistant.
