America’s Health Care Crisis: a Tax and Legal Perspective
Mark Starkman, Esq. served on a panel in a national video broadcast series on “America’s Health Care Crisis: a Tax and Legal Perspective”, a continuing professional education series for attorneys, accountants and other professionals sponsored by Edward Jones Investments.
Mr. Starkman was invited to participate because of his strong healthcare background as a past Hospital Administrator and current Health Law Practitioner at the law firm of Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP.
The forum was focused on the new healthcare laws and how they affect small and medium size businesses. Mark helped shed light on the interrelationship between the national system of Medicare and state Medicaid laws. Specifically, physicians and other health care professionals face a daunting array of legal liabilities from laws regarding referral relationships, joint ventures, false claims and medical necessity.
