Mark Krohn Mark A. Krohn, a partner in the firm, has been a senior citizen advocate since 1990. Mr. Krohn has been practicing law in Orange County since 1986. His practice is broad in scope but centers on those areas particularly relevant to the needs and interest of AARP Members, from estate planning to tax law. Mr. Krohn is a member of the New York and Florida State Bar, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public accountants, Orange County Bar Association, and Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council. Mr. Krohn often speaks at senior citizen events, and plays an active role in representing senior citizens in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and Dutchess County, New York. Mark is a graduate of the University of South Florida and received his Juris Doctor degree from Pace University. He received his LLM-Taxation from the University of Bridgeport and Quinnipiac College.

Sanford R. Altman


Sanford R. Altman, a graduate of New York Law School, has been an AARP Legal Services Network attorney from its inception. A former Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, he has been practicing in Orange County since 1983. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Elder Law and Trust and Estates Sections, the Orange County Bar Association and is Past President of the Middletown Bar Association. His practice is broad in scope but centers on those areas particularly relevant to the needs and interests of AARP Members, from estate planning for you and business-asset planning for your business, to preservation of your family assets. He is a member of the New York State and Florida State Bars.

Our team of tax experts represents a diversified clientele of businesses and individuals in tax planning, estate planning, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax departments. We have successfully guided clients in the areas of estate and gift tax, taxation of trusts, partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies. We have assisted in estate planning for families having a net worth from $100,000 to over $20,000,000. J&G assists business clients with the transfer of ownership and control of their business by utilizing effective, efficient, and creative techniques for asset or equity transactions. We also counsel individuals who seek to transfer ownership and control of their personal assets as part of business, estate, and asset protection plans.

We can help you form a corporation, limited partnership or limited liability company or other entity to protect your interests and formulate a tax strategy to help you keep what you work hard to earn.
