Ms. Thelman is presently a member of the firm's Real Estate Team. She assists with closings, contract and warranty preparation and resolution of title and financing issues. She is involved with the firm's very active condominium, cooperative and homeowner association (HOA) practice. She works closely with the governing boards of a number of Orange and Sullivan County condominiums and HOAs. Together with Gerald A. Lennon, she prepares offering plans for developers of both commercial and residential condominium developments for filing with the New York State Attorney General's Office. Penny has also assisted the firm's Land Use and Municipal Teams in a wide assortment of projects, from small two-lot subdivisions to large residential and commercial developments. She is the firm's lead person in obtaining agricultural and other property exemptions for local property owners.
Penny is the president and past vice president of the homeowners association where she lives. She is also on the Board of the Sullivan Association Of Lakes, which encompasses the representatives of several lake communities. She was a licensed real estate sales person from 1989 to 1999 and is a past member of the Orange County Board of Realtors. She is on the Board of Orange County Rural Development Agency, a not-for-profit housing developer, where she provides information and counseling for first-time home buyers.
Penny has over twenty years experience with the firm. She is a graduate of Northland College with a B.A. degree in planning and public policy. She has completed post-graduate work in the field of planning, computers, fund raising and real estate law.
