Business Team

J&G takes pride in the personal touch we bring to formulating the proposals that best meet our clients' needs. Our Business Law Team is comprised of dedicated professionals who specialize in analyzing those needs and in making recommendations that are practical, easy to understand, and in our clients' best interests. Our team approach combines attorneys with experience in business entity formation and transactions, business financing and reorganizations, and debtor/creditor rights to bring a broad perspective to business plans.

At J&G, we also understand that our clients demand the very best when it comes to legal representation concerning those certainties in life that no one has the power to change: death and taxes. We provide a wide range of tax services that assist our clients in understanding and, as a consequence, managing their taxes and their personal and business estates. (See Estate Planning, Business Planning & Tax Planning below.)

Our business clients rely on financing techniques to grow their business practice. We assist our clients in finding proper financing by examining the options available to them. After an initial interview we respond by supplying a preliminary plan of action tailored to our clients' assertions relating to risk factors, managerial considerations, and short- and long-term financing and business goals.

International Transactions
International business transactions have become a commonplace part of many local businesses. J&G has actively participated in this development by assisting clients who wish to participate in the global marketplace. We have represented our clients' commercial interests in the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, England, and France and have successfully developed extensive land development projects in St. Maarten, where we continue to provide real estate transactions services.

Computer/Internet Law
As an early participant in the online, digital revolution, J&G has assisted a number of Internet start-up companies to establish themselves in cyberspace. Our emphasis upon efficiently identifying and allocating risks, protecting intellectual property, and establishing appropriate contractual relationships has been widely recognized as the cornerstone of our clients' successes.

Intellectual Property
Not too long ago, intellectual property rights were undervalued or overlooked as a valuable asset in most business transactions. Today, those rights often are traded in the global marketplace separate from and independent of the other assets of an enterprise. Protecting, licensing and establishing a client's intellectual property rights is an important part of our commercial practice.

Creditors and Debtors Rights

The Creditors' & Debtors' Rights practice at J&G was developed to serve the financial challenges that clients face in their day-to-day activities. We are experienced in counseling both consumer and business clients in resolving their financial problems of court workouts and bankruptcy. Our attorneys have represented trustees, creditors committees, debtors, and both institutional and noninstitutional creditors in all facets of debtor and creditor law in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey.

In order to address all of a client's personal finance and business affairs, attorneys experienced in resolving financial difficulties work closely when necessary with firm collegues who specialize in the areas of tax, corporate, ligitation, real estate and environmental law.

We take special pride in the personal attention we give to our clients' concerns. Our attorneys work with clients to obtain facts in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere and examine solutions with a fresh and open mind. After the initial consultation, we outline available options and develop a plan to address our client's financial needs. Upon agreement, our client's needs receive immediate action in a cost-efficient manner. Many times creative and expedient solutions can overcome the frustration of pressing business, investment, and personal demands.
