The firm of Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP was recognized and honored at the Annual Meeting and Awards Reception of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce on October 29, 2008 at Kuhl's Highland House in Middletown, New York. The firm received the "Premier Business (50+ employees) Award" in recognition of its community involvement and for providing more than 40 years of sophisticated and cost effective legal services to the Hudson Valley community, and in appreciation of their ongoing commitment to supporting the local community. Chamber President John D'Ambrosio and Chairman of the Board Jim Smith of Advanced Testing presented the award to senior partner, Gerald N. Jacobowitz, Esq. who was accompanied by members of the firm, Peter R. Eriksen, Esq., Michael L. Carey, Esq., Gary M. Schuster, Esq., William E. Duquette, Esq., John Revella, Esq. and the firm's Communications Director, Judy Newman.
The firm was also presented with Certificates of Merit and Recognition from Congressman John Hall, New York State Senator William J. Larkin, Jr., New York State Senator John J. Bonacic, Assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun, Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt and Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana.
Senior partner Gerald N. Jacobowitz, Esq. lauded the attorneys who were affiliated with the firm and the support staff, citing that an overwhelming number have been with the firm for many years.
